it all started with me getting intoan injury, a couple of years ago this had impacted my mobility and since i'm a software engineer bytrade, i thought about how can i use technology to makemy future more convenient? my name is sune pedersen, i'm from faraday motion,i live in copenhagen
things that have been 3d printed, and at faraday motion we are creatingthe future of urban transportation so it's an electrical skateboard that we've built it contains a top lid, there's an underlidthat protects from water coming in, there's a battery compartment in the backand two brackets on the sides
that's basically giving the strength, and then there's aninner bracket mounted for the motor it's controlled by mobile phone in this version and the tilt of the mobile phone actually controlseither accelerating or braking everything is open sourced in our concept sothe whole crowd is going to provide additional innovations and things that wecould never have imagined ourselves we've been using the ultimaker 2 extended+ 3d printer for about a month now and it has been abig improvement to our production line the benefit with the 0.8mm nozzle isobviously the print speed we actually accelerate printing speed by a factor of 4
so we can go, on the lid here, from around 20-something hours to around 6 or 7 hours and this is a huge gamechanger for us the print quality is improvedby a factor 10, i would say we're getting really good results now,so we're happy we're in it for changing the futureof urban transportation so it needs to be something that is convenient, light, and also can take you a decent range we think that the personal side of it, that you havea personal vehicle that can be customized exactly to your needs, is actually going to be the future
four wheel plus a deck, it's a goodstarting point for adding things
around mid-year 2016 we are planning todo a kickstarter campaign with an improved product, more stable,a bit more mature so watch out for us on kickstarter
