today i'll be reviewing scribbler's 3d printing pen. when you want to start using the pen, you can just put the plastic in here, and you just hold down the down arrow. the plastic comes through really fast,
how strong is 3d printing, so i like that. and it's really easy to change colors. all you do is hold down the up button. it'll come out.
it only takes a few seconds, it was really fast. the plastic comes completely out and you can put in a new color. and it changes right away, like, there's no plastic of the old color still in there, and there's, like, this much and then it goes to the new color. so i thought that was really cool that you're not wasting plastic that you didn't want to use. it's actually a lot quieter than 3dware.
it does make noise, but it's not very loud and it's hardly noticeable. i'm gonna show you a video of its actual speed with the sound, so you can hear what it sounds like. i'm also quite pleased at how fast it goes. i was able to make this, like, so fast. it's a nice little pencil case. and look at all this plastic i have left.
like, that made me happy. i thought that was pretty awesome. the 3doodler uses 3 millimeter plastic, but this pen uses 1.75 millimeter plastic. the pen comes with a few small rolls of plastic to start you off. if you want more plastic, you can buy a huge amount all at once. i did the math, and i found out that 1.75 millimeter plastic is about 4 and a half times cheaper than 3 millimeter plastic. the pen has a feature to automatically go to sleep
if you leave it plugged in or you're not using it for a while. all you have to do is press this button, the down button, and the screen will show the temperature, and you can actually see on the numbers it goes up. so, i like this because i don't have to sit there waiting, not knowing when it's going to be ready. i can watch it count up and actually know when it's going to be ready. so i think that's cool.
i also like how the plastic is all in one big spool, so you don't have to put in a new strand, and then use it all up, and then have to put in another one, and wait. and even if you did have to do that this pen sucks it up so fast that it wouldn't even be an issue. but with other 3d pens i've used, like, you put the plastic in, it takes forever to come out, takes forever to change colors, all that, it's kind of actually really fast.
the 3doodler 2.0 definitely looks a lot nicer than this pen. but i do think this pen preforms really well. there are three versions of this pen. version 1 has the best price, but it's basic and it has limited features. version 2 is this pen that i reviewed today. and this is version 3, which i'm gonna be reviewing in the next few weeks. this pen is sold by scribbler, an american company. it ships for free within the us, comes with a clear owner's manual, a warranty, and a 30-day return policy.
if you're interested in buying one, make sure you use my coupon code "rainbow" and it'll give you $30 off. alternatively, you can buy the unbranded version of this pen directly from china at a great price. and you'll most likely get a european or asian plug. also, if you ship to the us, there's a chance this pen might get stuck in customs and take over a month to get to you. if you're in the united states, buying a pen from scribbler is probably your best bet.
if you're in europe or asia, go for the cheaper price and get the unbranded version directly from bhk, the chinese company.
links for both of the websites are in the description. over the next few weeks, i will be reviewing version 3 of this pen, and also comparing it to the 3doodler 2.0. make sure to subscribe so you don't miss anything!
