>> [background music] we first heardabout casey's story when he first came in with the lump in his neck,and he was really interested in potentially smashing thistumor that he had named boris. >> we had used 3d-printing to model tumors quitea bit before and let people see what things were like ahead of time, but this was the first time that we've ever made a tumorspecifically to be smashed. >> i'm kind of sad to bash borisbecause he's been a real pain. he's been causing a lot of trouble. a lot of time i've just been spending it here.
>> all the kids at school keep asking aboutboris and when are we going to smash boris. and so boris is some kind of cult phenomenon atthe school so, but it was really all his idea. we-- i was scratching my headwhen he kept talking about it, but you know help him bring someclosure and so we're all excited, so anything to help him relievesome stress and some anger. >> and last time it splattered alittle bit and so we want to make sure that everybody's eyes are protected. >> you guys scoot back, scoot back. >> here, get on your knees.
>> something just-- [ loud noise ] [ cheering ] >> i was you know really amazed to see the wholeschool supporting him along the way and helping with the healing process wasreally eye opening for me. >> coming in today and having thekids actually see the physical like representation of the tumor was huge. so they were excited to come in and seethat, and then just like be a part of that and be able to smash boris themselves.
>> whoa. >> there's a man who's making 3d images of boris to make a little boy happy,and his classmates happy. >> they wanted to say that they arenot letting this tumor take him over. the tumor is not ruling him. to see all the kids happy to beable to take a part and feeling like they were helping get rid of boris. [ background sounds ] >> it was really powerful to watch caseyand his friends be able to smash boris
