iphone 4 3d printed case

i wanted to mount my iphone 4 in my davincixyz 1.0 3d printer, so i could do some more time-lapsevideo. so i thought: ‘why don’t i 3d print something?’stick around to see what you can 3d burn. ok, so the first thing we’ll do is dragthe 3d model in, and then we’ll rotate it on the y axis, 90â°, soit’s not standing up on its end. and then i’ll go to the move section andhit land, just in case it’s not at the right spot.click on export, and i’ll just have a look at the advanced options here… everythingis fine, so i’m just going to leave it as is, and then hit export.what this does, in this special version, is

that it exports it to gcode, which i can thenedit. so when i click on the gcode editor tab, thereis a section here where i want to change the temperatures, or the default temperaturesfor the davinci. what i need to do is i need to type in there,220â°â€¦ now that’ll be the base temperature for theextruding of the filament, and the next section, which will be m190, is the bed temperaturethat it needs to get to before it will start printing.and, i’ll just put a little comment in there, just so i’m aware…ok. so then we’ll hit save, and save that and replace what i’ve already done.and that all looks good, so what i’ll do

is go to print.this will give me a rough estimation of how long it’s going to take and how much filamentit will use, and then hit ok.so now the object is transmitting to the davinci printer… and, let’s see how it looks!so the video footage you are seeing right now is a time-lapse footage of the 3d modelbeing printed. the footage is being sped up by about 100times so that you don’t have to sit through 40 minutes ofboring video. the thing moving back and forth is the printhead, which is extruding abs plastic at about 220â°celsius. and that’s what i set in the gcode

just before.so the glass bed that’s moving down with every layer is heated, so that way the printedplastic doesn’t warp or bend.so we set this to 90Ⱐin the gcode, which is pretty standard for abs plastic.well, here’s the 3d printed part. and, the iphone 4 fits perfectly within.if you’d like to print this 3d part for yourself, especially if you own a davincixyz 1.0 3d printer, then go down to the description down below andcheck it out for the link to the 3d model. well, that’s it for another episode of 3dburn – i really hope you liked it.
