hi, extrusion right is probably the mostimportant factor to consider when producing great-looking prints. everything for model strength to surface finish is affected by this one setting. in facti'd say eighty percent of the ugly prints we see are a direct result of an incorrectextrusion rate. don't worry though it's not a difficult thing to adjust and bythe end of this video you will have the most finely tunedprints in no time at all. extrusion rate is filament specific
pick a filament you'd like to tune inthis case we're tuning some lime green abs, and get it ready to print. we like to get an average diameter of newfilament by taking a few readings over a few unrolled meters. if you can'tdo this just enter the diameter value that thefilament is supposed to be. we made a model specifically for thetask of tuning extrusion rate grab the linked file and load it up. setthe infill percentage to 95 percent 2 outer walls and three top players we'll be running the model at a mediumspeed and
0.2 millimeter layer height. you may wantto run this tuning again for each different layer height you print with ignore the first five layers and thentake note of the infill as it runs you should see very smallgaps visible between the infill lines if you don't then you know the extrusionrate is too high if your printer allows drop the extrusionrate as it runs wait a couple of players and thenobserve the change adjusting again if necessary. if yourprinter doesn't allow on-the-fly adjustments
then you'll need to stop the print, change theextrusion rate within the slicer and start the print again. observe asthe printer finishes the top layers these should be smooth and without any gaps atall if you see gaps then the extrusion rateis too low continue adjusting until you've struck abalance between smooth gapless top layers and tiny gapped infill you should have a nice smooth exterioron all edges like this one here hey thanks forwatching and if you're interested check out ourother troubleshooting videos found on
