here’s some of what we learned. apparently,it’s relatively easy to make a 3d-printed lifestyle shoe, but much more difficult to3d-print a performance shoe. still, this new technology will provide incredible new levelsof customization-- the idea is that in the near future, you’ll be able to walk intoan adidas store and run on a treadmill, then use that recorded data to 3d-print a custommidsole for your specific needs. liedtke also reports that adidas has beenusing companies like google and pixar as inspiration, and hopes to collaborate with these brandsat what they call “creator farms†in brooklyn and berlin, noting that, “it’s not soeasy to do everything by yourself.†now, this sneaker is still just a prototypeand it will be a while before it debuts in
stores. liedtke said,“we have a lot of workto do, let’s be honest. the idea right now
how fast can a 3d printer print,is to show what’s possible and have peoplejoin us.†still, he did say that he expects the initial, extremely limited run to be summer 2016. i’m here for this, but i wonder if it’senough to make kanye a believer. for all of your sneaker news, subscribe to complex onyoutube.
