so james and mike walked through the shopyesterday you guys saw the guys i was walking around okay so james is my wife's cousin's unclesnephew's dog's grandather's he's a relative alright and now he just got out of the service theygot a little baby boy
3d printed ar lower download, he has a machine shop he's running into someproblems the parts that he was making was just takingway too long and i told him that i would work with him we would tool him up we set up everything
and basically run the parts get the programsready take all the tooling down to him put it intothe new machine and set him up for success so yesterday when i knew we were gonna dothis i actually set up this stratasys 3d printer and actuallymade a perfect part i inspected this this is within 2 thousandthsall the way around so basically when we take all the tools downthere they're gonna have the ar15 first and secondop ar10 first and second op
the fourth axis for both of them the ar10and the ar15 one machine not two running at super speeds and it's gonna be awesome james and mike are very inexperienced they haven't seen a lot of things done inthis trade so what we're gonna do is take that experiencethat we have we're actually gonna make fixtures for them and actually put soft jaws in these vicescut the soft jaws so they can hold the parts perfectly
then we're gonna set the indexer off to theside and we're gonna make it so we can do the ar15the ar10 and do them both complete in one machine 800 inches a minute 800 inches a minute baby that's how we doit so these are your jaws right here these things gonna get bolted in right inhere yeah we'll just cut all this out put the onepart here put the other part here and we'll be goodto go
basically come with a 3 quarter inch end mill just like i said boom boom boom come to this side come to this side don'twaste any time all track 3d surface this coming down righthere 800 inches a minute they're gonna get v blasted and we're gonnabe good i'm gonna setup all the tools so i'm gonnaget these tools ready and get them in the machine and we're gonna start running these partsand start ripping through some material and this is the stuff that i love
first i'm gonna simulate my tool paths makesure everything is good no crashes and then some ball tracking andthat's it it all looks good we're taking the program putting it into themachine once it's in the machine we're gonna startcutting the first tool that comes up is a 3 quarterinch end mill and we're gonna just go really fast just yankingall the material off we're gonna come back with a half inch and then we're gonna come back with a quarterinch and just work our way down to the smallertools finishing the part
once the part is complete we're gonna inspectwe're gonna make sure everything's dialed at that point the bottom is still connectedwe call that the hat now we're gonna flip that part over into ourspecial cut soft jaws we're clamping them and we're decking outthe top so there's something that we say in manufacturing time is money you got to keep the machine running you haveto keep the chips flying you got to get parts out the door so we're good to go
there you go an ar15 coming out of this side an ar10 comingout of this side same time boom i ended up setting up the third operationand getting the 4th axis the rotating axis getting that all dialedin hit all the different machining spots thati needed everything's looking really good of course i want to change a few things outspeed it up where we're good enough to go down to m1 machining today is the day we're getting our brand newhaas machine delivered down to m1 machining
they better be up and they better be readycuz their whole life is about to change right now ss super speed alright so this is gonna be like an all dayevent so we're gonna basically take all the toolingstart getting it in there get the vices in there get the tooling the programs oh got light titan and dana are getting the machine allsetup the haas machine our vf2
about ready to start making some parts veryexcited this is a huge day for m1 machining i can't wait till we make some chips we're not gonna make chips we're gonna poundchips sup yeah get some make my machine look like it belongs in thedinosaur age alright guys so this is what we got there you go man it's completely done look at that that means you guys are likemaking money now
yeah american made american built it's a beautiful part this fits together so nicely i think we got some rounds we wanna test theseparts we're gonna go fire some yeah you want to come this one right here that'd be awesome we took their time of two hours cut it downto around 40-45 minutes team titan came through and i'm super excited
